Advanced Dental Services & Technology – Phoenix, AZ

The Future of Dentistry in Your Own Town!

Many people don’t realize that dentistry, much like other medical fields, is a career where you’re always learning more and taking in new information. Without this continuing education, we wouldn’t be able to provide the best dental care possible. At Carefree Smiles Dentistry, we do everything we can to include technology that improves the patient experience, not hinder it. We stand by our commitment to learning about the latest and greatest in the dental field, and you and your family benefit firsthand.

TMJ/TMD Therapy

Dentists are not solely paying attention to your teeth and gums when performing routine exams. They’re also making sure that your bite remains even and confirming if pain is present when performing basic tasks (biting, chewing, moving your jaw, etc.) If you’re experiencing chronic jaw pain or popping/clicking of the jaw, it may be time for TMJ/TMD therapy. The temporomandibular joint is responsible for all for your jaw’s complex movements. If these joints experience additional stress, either due to bruxism (grinding and cleaning) or other causes, we can diagnose and treat your condition with the help of occlusal adjustments and custom-made oral appliances like splints.

Sleep Apnea Treatment

Do you find yourself gasping for air in the middle of the night? How about snoring so loudly that you wake yourself up? These symptoms and others can indicate untreated sleep apnea, which our dental office can help you treat. In the case of obstructive sleep apnea, which is the most common form of the condition, we can create a custom oral appliance that effectively removes the blockage in your mouth causing the sleep apnea events and get your sleep cycle back to normal.

Intraoral Camera

We always build our patient relationships based on trust, but sometimes it’s worth having the peace of mind that you need that crown or filling that we recommend. To help you stay informed, our dental office utilizes the Digidoc intraoral camera. This small, handheld device is intended to capture detailed images of your teeth, gums and other areas of interest we’d use to explain treatments to patients. We can also use these images to prove to insurance companies why you may need treatment.

Digital X-Rays

Panoramic dental x-rays

Capturing x-rays may have been difficult and time-consuming in the past, but not anymore. Today, digital x-rays make it incredibly easy to capture detailed images of your underlying oral structures and diagnose problems before they have a chance to cause damage. Additionally, digital x-rays help us reduce radiation exposure by up to 80 percent, ensuring that your treatments are safe. However, all patients are still given additional shielding for precautionary measures, especially for children and pregnant women.

CT/Cone Beam Scanner

Imagine if you could capture x-rays of your mouth, but instead of only getting a 2D perspective, you captured a full 3D cross-section. The CT Cone Beam Scanner from Planmeca allows the dentists at Carefree Smiles Dentistry to do precisely that. Whether we need to understand the source of your jaw pain more clearly or create a treatment plan for dental implants, the CT Cone Beam Scanner makes diagnosis and planning easier and more predictable.

Digital Impression System

3D images: iTero scanner , CEREC

In order to create dental crowns and other restorations, patients would have to bite into gray, putty-like material that was often uncomfortable to use and increased the risk for human error. Now, thanks to technologies like the iTero scanner and CEREC, capturing detailed 3D images of your teeth doesn’t have to be inconvenient. In fact, we can even create your new restorations the same day that you need them, removing the need for a second appointment and a temporary restoration.

Laser Dentistry

Dental lasers: Sirolase , Biolase Epic 10 , Waterlase i-Plus

When utilized by a professional, there’s nothing to fear when it comes to laser dentistry. At Carefree Smiles, we use the Sirolase, the Biolase Epic 10 and the Waterlase i-Plus dental lasers to perform a wide variety of treatments. Laser dentistry is intended to replace the use of traditional metal tools, which typically aren’t as precise and even prolong necessary healing time after treatment is completed. Dental lasers cauterize wounds immediately after contact, removing the need for sutures in most cases. We can remove soft tissue, remove decay, and even whiten teeth with laser dental technology!
